Money Actually

Terms of Service

Last updated October 19, 2026

By using Money Actually you agree to these terms, which are a contract between you and Money Actually (McKinney, Texas). They are written to be readable; if anything is unclear, ask us rather than guessing.

1. What this is

Money Actually is a read-only personal financial dashboard. It aggregates information from accounts you choose to connect and presents it back to you.

What it explicitly is not:

We are not a licensed financial advisor, broker-dealer, or investment adviser. Decisions you make about your money are yours.

2. Your account

You must be 18 or older. Keep your password secret, and tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access. You are responsible for activity under your account.

3. Connecting financial accounts

Bank connections are made through Plaid Inc. By connecting an account you authorize us to retrieve information from it on your behalf, and you confirm you are entitled to access that account.

You can disconnect any account at any time, which stops all further retrieval and deletes that account’s data.

Your data is not for sale. No ads, no lead generation, and we never sell your data. If Money Actually is ever sold, the buyer is bound by this.

4. Accuracy

Data comes from your financial institutions through Plaid. It can be delayed, incomplete, or wrong, and connections break for reasons outside our control. We show you when data was last updated, and you should treat your bank as the authority — particularly before making a decision that depends on an exact figure.

Categorization, recurring detection, and forecasts are estimates produced by software. They are not guarantees.

Tax groupings — Schedule C and Schedule E lines, business and personal splits, and 1099-K reconciliation — are there to help you organize your records. They are not tax determinations, and you or your tax professional decide what goes on a return.

5. Subscriptions and billing

Money Actually costs $6.99 per month after a free trial of 7 days. No card is required to begin the trial. Full pricing detail is on the pricing page.

Renewal. The subscription renews automatically each month at $6.99, charged to the payment method you provide, until you cancel. Applicable sales tax is added where your jurisdiction requires it, and is shown on the checkout page before you pay.

Annual plan. The annual plan costs $59.99 a year, charged once when you subscribe and once a year after that, until you cancel.

Cancelling. Cancel at any time from Settings, which opens our payment processor’s billing portal. Cancellation stops future charges and takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for; access continues until then. We do not require you to contact us to cancel.

Refunds. If you cancel within seven days of a monthly charge and have not substantially used the service in that period, email support@moneyactually.app and we will refund it. An annual charge is refunded in full if you ask within 14 days of it. Outside that window, charges already made are not refundable, and the 7-day trial exists so you can decide before paying. This does not limit any refund right you have under the law where you live.

What a plan includes. Up to 5 connected financial institutions. Each connection carries an ongoing cost to us, which is why there is a limit rather than an unlimited promise we would later have to walk back. Write to us if you need more.

If your subscription ends, or your trial ends without one, you keep:

What stops:

We do not delete your financial records to encourage you to resubscribe. The 14-day window before connections are removed exists so that a failed card does not cost you your bank connections.

Your price. The price you start at is your price for as long as you stay subscribed. A price increase applies only to new subscriptions, which includes yours if it ends and you later subscribe again.

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We never receive or store your full card number. If you subscribe through the App Store or Google Play instead, that store handles billing, renewals and refunds under its own terms, and you cancel there.

In the iOS app. A subscription bought in the iOS app is sold by Apple through In-App Purchase and charged to your Apple Account. It renews automatically each month unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You manage and cancel it in your Apple Account subscription settings (in the app, Settings → Subscription → Manage), and refunds are requested from Apple. The cancellation and refund arrangements above apply to subscriptions bought on our website. Your use of the iOS app is also governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

6. Acceptable use

Do not:

7. Ending it

Delete your account at any time in Settings or via this page. We may suspend an account that violates these terms or presents a security risk, and will tell you why where we can.

8. Third-party services

Money Actually relies on other companies to work: Plaid connects your financial accounts, Stripe takes card payments, Apple and Google handle purchases made in their stores, and Anthropic provides the AI model behind Slip. Your use of what they provide is also governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We choose them carefully, but we do not control them and are not responsible for their acts, outages or omissions.

9. Warranties and liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows.

To that same extent, our total liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or (b) US$100. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits or data, including losses from financial decisions made using the service.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

10. Indemnity

If someone brings a claim against us because you broke these terms, misused the service, or connected an account you were not authorized to access, you will cover our reasonable losses and costs from that claim, including reasonable legal fees. We will tell you about the claim promptly and let you take part in defending it.

11. Disputes

Please read this section carefully. It requires most disputes to be resolved by individual arbitration rather than in court, and it waives your right to a jury trial and to bring or join a class action. You can opt out, as explained below.

Talk to us first. Before either of us starts a claim, the one bringing it must send the other a written notice describing it and the relief wanted, and give the other 30 days to resolve it informally. Send yours to support@moneyactually.app with “Legal notice” in the subject; we will send ours to the email address on your account. Deadlines for bringing a claim are paused during those 30 days.

Arbitration. If it is not resolved, any dispute arising from these terms or the service will be settled by binding arbitration before one arbitrator, administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitrator can award the same individual relief a court could. Hearings can take place by video or phone, or in the county where you live. For a claim you bring, we pay any filing, administration and arbitrator fees beyond what you would pay to file the same claim in court.

Individual claims only. You and we each bring claims only in an individual capacity, never as a plaintiff or class member in a class, collective or representative proceeding, and the arbitrator may not combine claims of more than one person. You and we each give up the right to a jury trial.

Small claims. Either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court, if it qualifies there.

Many similar claims. If 25 or more similar demands for arbitration are filed against us by or with the help of the same law firm or organization, they are administered in batches of up to 25, one batch at a time, with one arbitrator for each batch. The first batch is decided before the next is filed, so that the outcome can guide the rest.

If the class waiver is set aside. If the individual-claims paragraph above is found unenforceable for a particular claim, that claim goes to court rather than to arbitration, and is paused until any individual claims in arbitration are decided. It is never arbitrated on a class basis.

Opting out. You can opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing support@moneyactually.app from the address on your account, with “Arbitration opt-out” in the subject, within 30 days of first accepting terms that contain this section. Opting out does not affect anything else in these terms.

Governing law and courts. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules; the Federal Arbitration Act governs this section. Any claim that is not arbitrated will be heard only in the state or federal courts located in Collin County, Texas, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be emailed to you before taking effect, and where a change needs your agreement we will ask for it in the app. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept it. A change to the Disputes section does not apply to a dispute either of us gave notice of before the change.

13. General

Assignment. We may transfer these terms to a successor in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of the business, and the successor is bound by them, including section 3’s promise about your data. You may not transfer them without our written consent.

Severability. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, it is enforced to the extent it can be and the rest stays in effect, except as the Disputes section provides for the class waiver.

Entire agreement. These terms, with the pricing page and the privacy policy they refer to, are the whole agreement between you and us about the service.

No waiver. If we do not enforce part of these terms at one time, we have not given up the right to enforce it later.

Events outside our control. We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages at Plaid, at your financial institution, at our hosting or payment providers, or on the internet.

14. Notices and contact

We send notices to the email address on your account, and a notice is given when it is sent. Send legal notices to us at support@moneyactually.app with “Legal notice” in the subject; if you need a postal address for service, ask there and we will provide one.
