The whole idea
Most budgeting apps flatter you. They project, they estimate, they round in the direction that makes the chart look nice. This one reports. Every figure in the app is a real balance from a real account, and the ones it cannot verify, it says so.
The top bar is what you think you have. The bottom bar is the same length —
the accent is the part you didn’t know about.
What it tracks
Connected accounts are the easy part. The car, the property and the loan against it go in by hand beside them, so the total counts everything you own and owe.
+$6,240.00
Every car, rental or client gets its own profit, break-even and year report.
Cars, valued and linked: link one to its loan and see its equity, and what it made after the value it lost. See the Corvette’s equity →
−$17,851.70
Balances come straight from the lender. No optimistic amortisation, no estimated payoff that quietly assumes you never miss a month.
9 recurring
Recurring charges are detected from your actual transaction history, not from a list you have to remember to maintain.
How it talks
Copy in a finance app is a trust decision. These are real strings from the product.
“Nothing spent yet”
An untouched budget. Not “0% of budget used”, which is arithmetic, not information.“No debts. Nice.”
An empty liabilities list. Two words, and it means something.“Treat it as ‘will my committed payments clear’, not a full budget.”
The cash forecast, telling you the limit of its own accuracy before you rely on it.Compared

Money Actually also shows what each car, rental or client earns, on the phone, and groups rental income and costs the way Schedule E lists them.
Each company’s list prices in US dollars, read from its own site and store listings on 14 Oct 2026. A dash means we could not confirm that fact there. Prices and promotions change, so check the linked pages before you decide.
Security
Money Actually can read your accounts and nothing else. There is no transfer button anywhere in the product, so even in the worst case nobody can use it to move a dollar.
Your data travels over TLS and sits in a database encrypted at rest with AES-256. Bank connection keys and two-factor secrets get a second layer of AES-256-GCM encryption, with a key kept outside the database.
You sign in to your bank through Plaid, and for most banks on the bank’s own site. We get read-only access. Your login never touches our servers.
Every request is checked against your signed session, and the database enforces row-level security on top, so one account can’t read another’s data.
Turn on two-factor sign-in, see every signed-in device and end any session. You can disconnect a bank or delete everything at any time. We don’t sell your data or show you ads.
